Made from six quadrilateral pieces of steel, This piece is a first for me in this style. I love monoliths and this being six sided was a real challenge, but it worked. The color shown is the first day after applying the rust patina. This color will continue to get darker and more natural in a short time. • Year: 2021 • Material: Steel • Patina: Natural • Color: Natural • Coating: Clear gloss spar urethane • Size: 73 x 14 x 14 in. • Weight: 75 lbs. • No: # 21-094

Reeds (Shown at Filoli in Woodside, CA)
My Reeds sculpture is very iconic. 11 pieces of steel climbing up 10 to 12 feet in the air, standing on their own, against the forces of nature. Reeds sounds wonderful when the wind blows - not too loud, not too soft, just right. The movement captures your eyes and the sound your ears. Truly one of my best inventions. Must be bolted down to concrete. Steel 120 x 12 x 12 in. #Reeds

Early Owen work. Razor (2009) was originally purchased in 2010 by collector Mr. Bashore for his estate in Palm Springs. When he moved to his villa in Mexico, he requested I come and pick up the sculptures so that they would be "Returned to the artists' care - for sale only to "like minded" collectors". Year: 2021 Material: Found steel Size: 80 x 14 x 13 in. Weight: 40 lbs. No: #21-101

Definitely an "Owen" sculpture. This piece is a combination of many hours of hunting to find just the right piece to place in just the right space. Early Work. This is the first "Reeds" sculpture I created. Made with steel found in Redwood City, CA in 2003. A wide deep base along with four foot reeds makes this a perfect modern conversation piece, whether placed indoors or outdoors. Reeds moves in the wind when placed outdoors and looks incredible when in motion. originally purchased in 2009 by collector Mr. Bashore for his estate in Palm Springs. Year: 2003 Material: Steel Size: 60 x 24 x 12 in. Weight: 40 lbs. No: #21-097

The colorful steel in this sculpture was found in 2015 in San Jose, CA at Sims Metals on Monterey Highway. The pieces originally came from the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, demolition from the grandstands. There are many, many years of paint. The coating is thick clear gloss lacquer over the paints.
